Dropped Your Shears or Nicked A Blade?

Avoid forcing your scissors closed if they have been damaged or dropped!

To close damaged scissors: hold them as usual in your hand. Using the fingertips of your other hand, push the blade tips apart just enough that you can then close the scissors without the blades touching each other.

Then, wrap a rubber band around the tips or a twist tie around the handles to keep the scissors closed.

Using force to close damaged scissor blades is unlikely to resolve the issue. It’s best to set them aside and call a professional.
